FEDIAF is the trade body representing the European pet food industry. 15 national trade associations and five companies (Affinity Petcare, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Mars PetCare, Nestlé Purina Petcare and Wellpet) are members of the FEDIAF.

FEDIAF President
Rosa Carbonell

Rosa Carbonell holds a Veterinary Degree University Autònoma of Barcelona (UAB) and an MBA. In 2005, she also pursued a Managing Development Program (PDD) at IESE Business School. She has been working at Nestlé Purina PetCare since 2003 and she currently is Head of the Vet Advocacy Team for Europe since 2021. She has over 20 years of experience in the PetCare industry in pet food and pharmaceutical companies. She also has a proven track record in National Trade Associations and in the IESE Women management forum. Since June 2022 Rosa has been elected the President of FEDIAF.

FEDIAF Secretary General
Sonia Franck

Sonia Franck is FEDIAF’s Secretary General.  Prior to joining FEDIAF, Sonia was Secretary General of IML Innovative Medicines Luxembourg, where she played a pivotal role in transforming the association. Under Sonia’s leadership, IML flourished, establishing a new five-year strategy, restructuring its management, diversifying revenue streams and elevating the association’s visibility. Sonia has an Executive MBA in Innovation, a Master’s 2 degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Health Economics and Policy Certificate from the London School of Economics.  Sonia is driven by the Thrive and Energise business models and is a proud pet owner. 

Technical Director and Deputy Secretary General
Alice Tempel Costa

Alice Tempel Costa, holds a BSc in Agriculture from UFRGS, Brazil and a Master’s Degree in Cooperation & Development from IUSS University in Pavia, Italy. She has over 10 years’ experience in European Trade Associations in Brussels. Before joining FEDIAF in September 2020, she has worked for DG AGRI of the European Commission, FAO, Embrapa (The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) and Wageningen University.

EU Policy and Regulatory Affairs Manager
Aleksandra Prandota

Aleksandra has a PhD in Agricultural Sciences specialising in nutrition and food technology from Warsaw University of Life Sciences where she also obtained a Master’s Engineer degree in Commodity Studies. Additionally, she graduated from Wageningen University with a MSc in Food Safety and a Bachelor degree in International Relations from the Warsaw School of Economics. Aleksandra has over 15 years of experience working for both public and private sectors, including: DG SANTE of the European Commission, a trade company dealing with exports of agricultural products and Polish national and regional institutions responsible for the management of EU Funds. She has a strong track record of working with advocacy and regulatory affairs in Brussels.
